Calling all aspiring designers, crafty creators, and theatre lovers! Step into the world of fashion and fun with our Sewing Summer Camps, two week-long sewing adventures where your creativity takes center stage.
In these hands-on camps, you'll learn everything from how to confidently use a sewing machine to the fundamentals of pattern making, clothing design, and costume creation. Guided by professional designer Janet Pitcher, you won’t just walk away with new skills, you’ll earn your first costumer credit as your camp creation will be featured in an upcoming Moonlight Youth Theatre production!
Whether you dream of designing for Broadway or just love to sew, this camp is your chance to learn, create, and shine. No prior experience needed — just bring your imagination.

Two sessions: June 23-27 or August 4-8
Time: 9 AM to 12 PM
Location: Moonlight Studios
Cost per session: $175

Meet the Instructor: Janet Pitcher
Janet Pitcher began her costuming journey in youth theater and has been designing professionally since 2012, bringing over 100 productions to life across San Diego. Favorite credits include Curious Incident, Light in the Piazza, Once (CCAE Theatricals), A Christmas Story, Young Frankenstein, Full Monty (SDMT), Elf, The Bodyguard, Rent (Welk Theatre), and The Color Purple (New Village Arts). Awards: SD Theater Critics Circle winner (Sunday in the Park with George), Robby nomination (Kiss of the Spiderwoman). Janet is thrilled to make her Moonlight debut with Waitress!
